My father, Jerry Hildreth, was recently diagnosed with bone cancer in his spine. There are still more tests to be done to see if this cancer spread from his lungs or other organs, but he is already receiving radiation treatments on his back. They say this will ease the severe pain that he has been in for several weeks, making it hard for him to walk, stand up straight, lay down flat or sleep. He’s been on heavy narcotic drugs for now to manage the pain so that he can lay flat and sit still for tests and treatments.
My dad has worked hard all of his life mostly in automotive repair and as a business owner. As a young child I loved going to work with him and I learned the value of working hard and taking pride in what you do from him. He’s always put taking care of his family first. Since retiring from auto repair, he’s taught himself how to build, repair and maintain computers and he loves photography.
I’m asking for your help in raising funds to cover the portion of his medical bills and expenses that won’t be covered by insurance during his treatment and recovery. We need him to concentrate on getting healthy and not stress about how they will pay the extra bills.
I know the holidays are coming up and there are many benefits and fundraising campaigns asking for your help as well, but I truly appreciate you considering helping in any way you can. I’m setting up an online store to sell donated items and accept cash donations and am putting together a fundraising concert in Buffalo, NY on December 18th. The details of that event are being updated as they come in and can be found HERE.

The doctors at Roswell have confirmed that the cancer is in his lungs. They offered no treatment options other than the radiation on his spine and pain management. We are looking into alternatives. Since, alternative treatments are never covered by insurance, we will be needing your help more than ever.
